Back in December 2018, I set aside two weeks of time where I was basically going to Marie Kondo my entire house. And this was even before her Netflix series came out. The first room had to be my sewing room because my work flow was dreadful and I had a lot of big things happening in 2019 so I needed it to flow like a well-oiled machine. So in my head, I would do my sewing room in one day and then my kitchen and bedroom and so forth. Well, four months and five videos later, I’m finally finished with my sewing room and the flow is magnificent.

In case you missed the series, I have four videos where you can watch the process and thinking behind turning my room from drekitude to fabulous. You can find them in this playlist and then you can either click here or the picture before for the final big reveal video.
Also, I wanted to give y’all visibility to some of the things I used and love in my room. Since I’ve had time to really determine which ones are working great, I’ll limit the details to those and amend this list as it evolves and I discover new things. I have an Amazon Storefront with a list on Organizational Stuff that has my favorite items there.
I also became an affiliate of Martelli after I experienced there awesomeness, so here’s an affiliate link if y’all wanted to get any of the neato stuff I’m obsessed with. I have both the Premier Work Station (29″ x 47″ table top) & the 3pc Round-About Set (Base, Mat & Iron Top).
The rest of my furniture, I bought at IKEA. I wanted to keep it white and sleek so that my work and fabric would be the inspiration point.
- Billy Bookcase with height Extension
- Billy/Gnedby Shelving Combination
- Linnmon/Alex Desk Setup
- Alex Drawer Unit on Casters
- Algot Frame with 4 mesh baskets/top shelf
- Algot Casters
- Kuggis Box with lid

Seriously y’all, I couldn’t have done this without y’all. Both being accountable to you and having y’all uplift me to continue meant the world to me. And the messages upon messages of y’all being inspired to clean your own rooms has blown my mind. Please continue sharing in the comments here. And if y’all have found any amazing organizational tools that work for you or want to see anything more closely, let me know and I’ll snap some pics and start a gallery. And, as always, keep it positive y’all.

This post/video inspired me so much! I know you have upgraded to the Dream Box since this post, but this is still such a dream of a creative space. I am currently converting an extra bedroom in our house into my sewing/crafting space and was feeling a little restricted because the room is small compared to the fabulous examples I was seeing online and my budget is modest, but when you revealed that your space is similar in size to mine, I was so excited to see just how MUCH you did with the space, and it looks amazing! I can’t wait to finish putting everything together and finally having one central location for all my creative stuff instead of sticking it in drawers and closets all over the house. I told my spouse that if anyone is looking for me, I will be either creating or just sitting in my new room imagining the possibilities. Thank you for the inspiration and sources!
