I first started this afghan the week after I last went to Colorado to film my EPP Giftable Projects Class with Bluprint. The yarn is a Sprightly Acrylic Wool Worsted Stripes Yarn and this Tide Pool variegated color story is all of my favorite colors in one big ball of yummy yarn.
At that point in my crochet arsenal, I only knew double crochet, so I picked this wide double-crochet pattern, which created a super spiffy texture and density methinks.
I used 6 mm hook and a width of 48 inches for the starter chain. Then basically I went back and forth using a wide double-crochet until it reached 54″ with four skeins. I have a video tutorial on my YouTube if you need more information.
For all intents-and -purposes, 48″ x 54″ is a good achievable lap afghan. Methinks I’m gonna add another skein to it and some tassels on the end and then it’ll be done done.
If you want to make this, you’ll need 4-5 skeins of Sprightly Acrylic Wool Worsted Stripes Yarn depending on whether you want the longer tassle-filled version or not.
