Once I realized the moment in time that these mini minis were inspired by in my head, I had to make a third where the colors were influenced by the sand, rocks and wood that I saw on the beach. And there was only one place I knew I could make this color story happen and that was with Robert Kaufman‘s Kona Solids.
There was only one flow of the colors that would work for what was in my head and it needed to feel like the wood and the rocks on the beach at different places. Like I totally know that’s a lot of thinking for 6 inches but that’s how my brain works.
And boy oh boy did this work out!
I’m 100% smitten with mini quilts and weaves, but this trio is officially complete!
I’ve been really enjoying watching your progress on these mini mini quilts on Instagram, Mathew. And the colours you have chosen for each one is beautiful! But I do have a question…. How does it look from the back? Are you backing these? I seen in your tutorial that you use interfacing. The whole weaving thing is such a brilliant idea.
i totally out a nifty piece of fabric in the back and bind it like a quilt. ?
The colors in this are amazing. Just Love It!
OMG thank you so much!!
