When Katie from Simple Life Pattern Company reached out to me to see if I would be interested in making this new Cora dress when she launched it, I jumped at the chance. All of her patterns are amazing and I actually wanted to make a strappy summer dress for my kiddo, so this was perfect timing.
At first I had messed around with fabric manipulation for the bodice, but it looked too busy to me, so I opted for a larger basket weave of the print. I had never done that before and was blown away by the fractured look it created with the print.
I had never made a strappy dress before and this pattern perfectly explained it turning this weave into an ooh la la top.
As always when I make Helena clothes, she picked the two straps and one ruffle for the skirt. I must say that my kiddo has taste because this came out awesome!!
Thanks Katie for trusting me with this pattern because it was so much fun!
