After I stitched my two versions of the Mister Domestic Bow Ties pattern for the National Quilt Museum Block of the Month, I knew exactly what I was going to do with each. Version 1 I’m totally going to make a full quilt using my hybrid EPP sewing. And Version 2 was going to become this 16″ x 16″ pillow. To turn this 10″ x 10″ EPP block into a 16″ square, I first needed to take out the papers and press it into a 10.5″ x 10.5″ inch paper0-free block. Then I added a 3.5″ border around the block. Easy peasy pudding pie. Then I got my quilt on using 50 wt Blue Gray Aurifil at 1/8″ to either side of the main seams, which has become my new go-to with square quilt piecing.
And this is where I’d show pictures of the back and the invisible zipper that I sewed in the bottom seam, but I used some of my Loved to Pieces fabric and I’m not previewing that yet so I’m skipping straight to the end. Oooh la la and yaaaaay!
Here are some of the supplies that I used:
