So April Rhodes is a fabric genius. There. I said it. Like her Observer collection is bananas! Like its so major it might even be plantains! And like its been sitting on my shelf waiting for me to play with it for a couple weeks, but I wanted a project where I could use all of them because that’s just the way it had to be. And then Giucy Giuce posted this awesome Bucket Bag sew-along and I counted all the stripes and there were 10, which was exactly what I needed to make two bags with all the fabrics: one for me and one for Helena.
I gave Helena a choice between blue and yellow and she surprisingly chose the yellow, which gave me the blue. So, I chose the Bluebottle Field Denim & Parisian Blue Pure Elements to go with the blues and the Canyon Sunset & Chocolate for the yellows. And lucky for me, the awesome that is Jenn Rossotti had already done all the work for me in shrinking Guiseppi’s original tutorial into a mini bag for Helena because math just plain hurts sometimes.
So blue happened….
Then yellow happened…
Then I did the hokey pokey and I turned myself around because, you know, that’s what it’s all about.
And yes, the bags had a photoshoot. Here are the highlights.
We already have plans to take these puppies to the beach. Aloha!
So sweet and awesome looking. 🙂 You seem like an amazing dad!
Gorgeous!
Your fabric choices took this project to the next level. Just beautiful.
