Over the past few years, I’ve selected an Annual LGBTQ+ pride project to complete during Pride Month, which is June every year. Last year, I made the Love is Love Pillow and personally matched the total proceeds of pattern sales as a donation to The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25. Last year, we raised over $1000 for the organization and this year, I’m hoping to up the ante by promising to match up to $1500 of the total sales.
As soon as I saw this pattern, I knew that I had to partner with Sam Hunter of Hunter’s Design Studio and luckily she said yes because this is awesome!!! I recolored the pattern into a rainbow using Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids and woooooooooooow is all I can say. It’s like in my head it was gonna work, but then seeing it all sewn up I was like yes this is exquisite.
Well, you can make this bombtastic Rainbow Colorblock LOVE pattern with me. I asked Fat Quarter Shop if they could kit this version with the fabric and pattern since I knew they carried the Pure Solids and they totally did!!! So now there are multiple ways you can participate:
- Buy the full kit with fabric & pattern at Fat Quarter Shop (for now sign up to be notified when they are available to purchase)
- Buy just the pattern from Fat Quarter Shop
- Buy the pattern from Hunter’s Design Studio and use the coupon code misterd-and-hds-pride30 for 30% off through the end of June 2019
So how exactly does this help me raise money for the Trevor Project? So at the end of June, I’ll get a report from both Sam and FQS of the total sales and then I’ll match that amount as a donation to the Trevor Project, not to exceed $1500. And if enough folks decide to make this with me, I’ll do a sewalong with tips and tricks and fun and prizes, so let’s just say this is gonna happen and put that into the universe. I’ll have details on June 1st, but for now post all pictures on social using the hashtags #colorblocklovequilt #mdpride2019. So let’s have some fun stitching a rainbow of love, celebrating pride, and helping raise money for this amazing organization.

I’m in! I’ll get the kit and make it as a throw for each of my favorite gay couples! Looks big enough to cuddle under while watching TV, if not I’ll just add a framing boarder! ?
I LOVE this! Life is TOO short for anything but love.
Beautiful!?????
I plan to put this on my to do list, but don’t know if I can fit this SAL into my schedule. I saw the kit at FQS. What is the name of the fabric you used for the binding.
This is perfect for my son. I am getting the kit from Fat Quarter Shop but would like to know what you suggest for backing? Thank you so much and lots of rainbow love.
We’re in! What 33+ years together Lesbian couple couldn’t use even more rainbow love on their bed? 🙂 Thanks for the beautiful design!
I absolutely love this quilt. I’m going to purchase this and make it for my brother. Can you tell me it the binding comes with the kit? If not, can you tell the fabric that was used?!?!
Thank you,
Shelley

Hi Matthew! I tried to leave a comment the other day but it’s been eaten by the aether so I gonna try again 🙂
I missed getting the kit for this at FQS and I’m wondering if it’s possible to get the list of colors you used from either you or Hunter’s Design Studio?
TIA,
Theresa
The quilt kits are not available anymore ? Do you have a list of colours or fabrics you would recomend to do this in?
