Do y’all know Jodi Godfrey of Tales of Cloth? Well, if you don’t, she’s amazing and awesome and lives in Australia and makes the best papers for English Paper Piecing. And noooow she has a new book called The Seedlings Quilts, which has soooo many awesome patterns and ideas.
And for the launch of her book, Jodi’s having a book tour and asked me to be a part of it. I picked the Myrtle Block because I thought it would create the most gorgeous medallion for a pillow. At the time when I was gonna get started stitching, I got a bundle of Katarina Roccella‘s new Floralish Collection and new that it would create the perfect summer decor.
Once I got the main piece done, I decided to take the easy way and machine stitch the border pieces. I basically cut out the fabric using the paper piece as a template and added 1/2″ seam allowance. Then I pressed open the outer edges of the pieced fabric and sewed them together.
I fused some fleece to the back of the front piece and did some simple quilting and voila an awesome summer pillow was created.
And for those interested, Jodi is having a sewalong of the Seedlings Quilt, so add it to your calendar to join the fun.
