Very rarely do all aspects of my life converge into one event, but this year I will be walking in the Portland AIDS Walk as a member of Team Textile. For those who don’t know this about me, during the day I work for Gilead in HIV, which has been a dream job of mine since I entered the pharmaceutical industry. Growing up in the 80s and 90s, I have had many friends in my life living with HIV/AIDS and unfortunately have lost probably just as many to the virus. Despite all of the progress in therapies and understanding the virus, there is still a lot of work to be done and a lot of help that is required.
This weekend, Team Textile will be having an auction on Instagram, where you will have the ability to bid on items where 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Cascade AIDS Project through the AIDS Walk. I have donated five finished items and a fat quarter bundle of Art Gallery Fabrics. The bidding will begin Saturday August 26th and end on Sunday August 27th. Here’s a sneak peak of the items that I have in the auction.
If you prefer to donate to the AIDS Walk instead of or in addition to bidding on the auction, you can go directly to my page to make a donation. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, in advance, for any and all support.
