Back when I did the Sizzix demo at Fabric Depot, Trudy sent me home with this amazeballs Indygo Junction Fabriflair Radiant Star Kit for my making pleasure. And like I’d seen this floating around on the interweb and totally already had a plan for it so it was basically one of those universe-law-of-attraction moments. So basically my plan was to come up with 12 different gradients using Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Elements Solids.
So once I came up with all the gradients, the next thing to do was the hand sew all of the gradient flowers that would make up the star. And look at this oooh la la of color.
Next I separated the flowers into a warm and cool pile and arranged them into a flow that worked for my eyeballs. Then I sewed up the two halves using a 12wt Robins Egg Aurifil Thread.
And then I married those two halves into a whole gorgeous star. And like it totally snowed before I took this picture so I was able to take advantage of automatic white balance.
Seriously y’all, this fun new take on English Paper Piecing is amazingly fun and fresh. So grab a pattern and play along. Woop woop!
