Alchemy Fabric Bundle by Tim Holtz for FreeSpirit Fabrics

If a solid went through some kind of mysterious chemical transformation and came out infinitely cooler, it would probably look like Alchemy.

Designed by Tim Holtz for FreeSpirit Fabrics, Alchemy is a richly layered abstract print that looks somewhere between alcohol ink, liquid pigment, polished stone and a very good science experiment. Pools of saturated color bleed and swirl into one another while darker edges and translucent layers give the fabric incredible depth.

This bundle includes the four current Alchemy colorways, and together they are kind of ridiculous:

• Elixir brings electric greens ranging from chartreuse to deep moss.
• Intrigue moves through turquoise, aqua, blue and flashes of violet and acid green.
• Opulent is saturated purple, violet and magenta with deep inky shadows.
• Smolder strips the design back to smoky charcoal, black, gray and silver.

Together, they make a compact little palette with a ton of range. Use them as textured solids, backgrounds, borders, bindings, bold geometric piecing, fabric weaving, or anywhere a flat solid just isn't doing enough for you. They also mix beautifully with the vintage ephemera, typography and distressed textures found throughout Tim Holtz's Eclectic Elements collections.
