Discover the beauty of thoughtful color placement with the Wishing Well Quilt Kit, a striking design by Natalie Barnes of Beyond the Reef Patterns. Framed squares, playful pieced sashing, and a rich mix of prints create a quilt that feels both structured and spontaneous, making it the perfect showcase for Marcia Derse’s Moody Mod: Part 1 and Overflow: Part 1 batik collections.
Inspired by Marcia Derse’s artistic process, Moody Mod: Part 1 grew from a palette of earthy pigments, muted neutrals, warm ochres, soft lavenders, deep blues, and expressive hand-drawn marks. The companion Overflow collection expands those colors with beautifully textured stripe batiks, giving this quilt incredible movement and depth. Together, they create a sophisticated modern quilt that rewards a closer look, with every block revealing new combinations of color and pattern.
The finished quilt measures approximately 68½” × 68½”, making it an ideal lap quilt or generous throw. The pattern is fat quarter friendly, allowing the collections to shine through a wide variety of fabrics while keeping the piecing approachable.
