Elevated Abstractions – Midnight Edition

5

When Violet Craft initially released her Elevated Abstractions Quilt Pattern a few years ago, I knew I had to make it. At that point, I had played with a couple of Violet’s EPP patterns, bu had yet to tackle one of her Foundation Patterns and this seemed like it was the perfect size to tackle.

My first go at the pattern was the Au Natural version above. It was such a hit that I was asked to teach this sold-out class twice and Violet even popped up to give many of her tips and tricks. How awesome is that?

So instead of using the same fabrics as my first one, I started a Midnight Edition version during my two classes.

Fat Quarter Shop Quilting Fabric, Kits, Notions and Patterns

I got pretty far in it and fully intended to finish it, but I put it in a box and forgot it until I found it last week. With some extra time on my hands and the need to do some sewing just for me, I jumped back in as if I started it just yesterday.

I’m a little fuzzy on some of the color choices, here’s a roundabout guestimate of the colors I used that’ll produce a quilt pretty close and probably even better. I know Fat Quarter Shop always carries all of the Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids if you’re looking for a place to snag some.

I’m still decided how I’m going to finish it and whether I’m going to add fabric to make it a quilt quilt. But for now, enjoy until I probably most likely decided whatever I”m going to decide some time in the future.

A sunny day to a midnight run. I love both of these. It’s always amazing how different a pattern looks just by changing the colors. Thanks for sharing.

I love both versions so much! Could you also post the fabric choices for the “au natural” version? Thanks in advance!

This is fantastic. I hope you’ll show us what you decide – this size or a quilt. So good to see you sewing.
